Salary Details: $90,000-120,000 annually, based on years of licensure and experience.

Job Summary:
The BCBA will conduct functional behavior assessments to understand factors that contribute to and sustain challenging behaviors and will guide development of positive behavior repertoires. They will guide faculty and staff in development of behavior intervention plans and will construct systemic positive behavior supports across the campus – in school, as well as in the campus life program - consulting, counseling and supporting crises as needed. The BCBA will maintain key relationships with all staff at Shrub Oak International School, their students and families, to collaborate to ensure that the individualized needs of our student population are met. Having access to confidential information, discretion and independent judgement is required.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work
- Full-Time
- Monday-Friday, 8:15am-4:15pm
- As an exempt role, there may be additional work required outside these hours as dictated by the needs of our students and/or the program.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- A person who is willing to observe a high pace interdisciplinary environment to support our students’ lives.
- Incorporates student-centered learning throughout intervention and treatment utilizing a strength-based approach, in accordance with students’ ITEPs.
- Observes students in academic and residential living space, completes functional behavior assessments, and develops behavioral plans; captures challenging behaviors and positive behavior repertoire in the plans.
- Contributes to an interdisciplinary team to best support their students.
- Collects and analyzes data to evaluate the effectiveness of the behavioral plan.
- Attends annual IEP meetings with school districts.
- Collaborates with individuals and teams to best support students across all times/challenges.
- Trains and models interventions and plans to 1:1 and DSP staff.
- Follows IEP goals created by interdisciplinary team.
- Supports the student’s everyday activities, academic work, and residential work.
- Remains up to date on TCIS training.

- Proficient with Microsoft 365 and/or related software
Required Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or related field
- NYS Behavior Analyst certification, current and in good standing
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working with elementary, middle, and/or secondary school students with Autism.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of experience working with elementary, middle, and/or secondary school students with Autism.
Physical Requirements/Demands:
A workday regularly includes multiple or conflicting demands, deadlines and time pressures; work regularly requires sustained concentration. Sitting at a desk, walking up and down stairs (building has 6 floors), around a hilly campus as needed, may also require walking between floors or between buildings at a moment’s notice. Crisis intervention and support on occasion.
Work Environment:
We are a boarding school located on a 127-acre campus. The work environment will include both indoor and outdoor spaces, mostly inside the classroom or educational environment. May include work within the residential setting. The building has 6 floors accessible by staircases and elevators.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervision of interns may be required.
