Job Title: Electrical Mechanic Reports to: Project Manager Department: Facilities Compensation: $40 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Essential Functions: The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in buildings across the campus. They will be hands-on in ensuring the facilities and campus are safe, clean, secure, and in proper working order, while maintaining the property to the highest standards.
Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures within buildings.
Install conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
Ensure piping and electrical systems comply with safety standards and electrical codes.
Install circuit breakers and other electrical hardware, connecting wiring to these components.
Test electrical systems to verify proper installation and functionality.
Inspect electrical systems to assess the need for repairs or upgrades.
Replace conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as required.
Perform other electrical and maintenance duties as assigned.
Maintain the appearance and functionality of assigned properties.
Collaborate closely with staff, security, and administration to ensure the smooth operation of the school’s facilities.

Requirements:
Experience & Education
Minimum 15 years’ experience in commercial work required
Completion of a formal apprenticeship and/or valid electrician’s license required
Extensive knowledge of and experience with electrical systems and wiring required
Proficiency in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Skills & Abilities:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to bend pipes according to measurements
Ability to troubleshoot low voltage and 120/240 3 phase and 277/480 service work
Ability to learn new skills and display grit, resilience, and composure during challenging situations
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, and succeed in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
Ability to read blueprints and use hand tools and power tools effectively
Ability to adhere to all health and safety requirements and follow basic safety procedures due to physical risks
Flexibility with work schedule and willingness to work overtime as needed
Ability to understand and follow simple instructions and operate proactively and independently
Ability to get TCIS trained and complete/maintain all required training

Physical Requirements/Demands: A workday regularly includes multiple or conflicting demands, deadlines and time pressures; work regularly requires sustained concentration. Standing for sustained periods of time, bending, stretching, walking up and down stairs (building has 6 floors), around a hilly campus as needed, may also require walking between floors or between buildings at a moment’s notice. May need to lift/move boxes up to 25 pounds and move or rearrange furniture.
Work Environment: We are a boarding school located on a 127-acre campus. The work environment will include both indoor and outdoor spaces, mostly inside the classroom or educational environment. May include work within the residential setting. The building has 6 floors accessible by staircases and elevators.
