Who You Are:
- You have a passion for working with the autism population and ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.
- You are a facilities and maintenance professional with experience maintaining buildings, equipment, and grounds in safe and fully functional condition.
- You are skilled in performing a wide range of maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
- You take pride in maintaining clean, organized, and well-presented environments that reflect high standards.
- You are proactive in identifying maintenance needs, resolving issues, and ensuring preventative upkeep of facilities.
- You work well independently while also collaborating effectively with staff, vendors, and leadership to support daily operations.
- You are reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- You demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and accountability in all aspects of your work.

- You are physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including lifting, moving throughout campus, and operating maintenance equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Perform basic repairs across plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and general building systems.
- Complete light carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring repairs, and minor electrical work.
- Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior spaces including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and general upkeep.
- Support campus operations by setting up furniture, equipment, and materials for events and daily activities.
- Accept, inspect, and organize deliveries and shipments.
- Identify, report, and follow up on vendor performance and maintenance needs.
- Maintain grounds and assist with general campus upkeep, including trash removal and minor landscaping tasks.
- Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with staff, security, and administration to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of assigned areas.
- Assist with additional maintenance tasks, projects, and campus needs as required.

Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field required.
- Strong working knowledge of general maintenance, repair techniques, and building systems.
- Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work in environments with physical demands.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and complete tasks efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.
- Experience in a school or institutional setting preferred.
- Trade certification (e.g., plumbing or electrical) preferred.
- Ability to get TCIS trained and complete/maintain all required trainings.
- Student Facing Positions:
- Must be able to react and move quickly during student crisis, both for the safety of the student and for the staff.
- Must be able to run across the campus and throughout the school to catch/monitor an eloping student, and/or to remove yourself from an unsafe situation.
- You must be able to pass TCIS (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training for Schools).
- You must be able to bend, stretch, sit, stand, crouch or kneel for sustained periods of time if implementing a hold.
